What This Means for You

We’re making banking even better for our young members! As part of our commitment to providing simple, flexible, and rewarding financial solutions, we’re transitioning our youth accounts to the new Bright Start suite. This means your current youth account will be moving to Bright Start, designed to help young members build smart financial habits with more benefits and streamlined options.

Seamless Transition

On April 3, most youth accounts will automatically move to Bright Start with no action required.

Bright Start offers enhanced benefits, designed to make managing money even easier.

A Fresh New Name

If your account transitions, you’ll see a new name, but your access, balances, and services will remain the same.

What to Expect

All your banking details—like your debit card, online banking login, and account history—will stay the same. There won’t be any interruptions to your account access, and you’ll be able to enjoy the new benefits of Bright Start right away!

We’re simplifying our youth accounts to make banking easier and better for you! Here’s why this change is happening:

  • Easier to Understand & Manage – With fewer account types, it’s simpler to know which account fits your needs and how to make the most of it.

  • Better Financial Wellness & Education – A straightforward account structure makes it easier to learn smart money habits and manage your finances with confidence.

  • Clearer & More Transparent Service – With improved account details and fee structures, you’ll always know what to expect, making banking with us more seamless and stress-free.

Our goal is to provide young members with the best possible start on their financial journey, and Bright Start is designed to do just that! If you have any questions, we’re happy to help.

Most youth accounts will transition to Bright Start, including both chequing and savings accounts for members aged 0-25. However, a small number of accounts will remain unchanged.

Accounts that will transition to the respective Bright Start spending or savings account on April 3:
  • FatCat
  • HeadStart
  • Graduate (members under the age of 25)
  • LifeStart (members under the age of 25)
Graduate and LifeStart account holders over the age of 25 will either stay in their account type or be contacted to chat about their options. You can always call us if you have questions.
No, your account number and login details will stay the same.
If your account is transitioning, there’s nothing you need to do—it will move automatically. If your account is staying the same, no action is needed either.
All youth accounts held by members under the age of 25 will be transitioned to a Bright Start account. Those over 25 will either remain in their existing account type or will be contacted to discuss options. As always, call us if you have any questions.
Bright Start is designed to simplify youth banking with tailored accounts that offer enhanced benefits. While most features have improved, some aspects may have changed.
Absolutely! Your card, online banking, and mobile app access will remain unchanged.
The $50 Welcome Bonus is an exclusive offer for new members opening a Bright Start account. If you're already a member and your account is transitioning to Bright Start, you won’t be eligible for this bonus. However, you’ll still enjoy all the great benefits of your new account! You may be eligible for the $100 Bundle Bonus if you add an eligible product to complete your Bright Start Bundle. To qualify, your bundle must include all four products: a spending account, a savings account, a line of credit, and a credit card.
