Recognize it

Recognize what different scams look like and when someone is trying to fool you. Explore the great resources below to learn more about how to protect yourself and your money.

Reject it

Reject the scam and don’t give in to fraudsters:
  • Don't be afraid to say no
  • Don't be intimidated by high-pressure tactics 
  • Do your research
  • Don't give out personal information

Report it

If you suspect you or a loved one has been a victim of fraud, reach out to our Contact Centre at 306.842.6641. We can help; have staff on our team whose entire job is protecting you and your money. We'll guide you through the next steps including reporting the fraud to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.

Password best practices

Keep your personal and financial information safe with strong and unique passwords. Strong passwords are:

  • Long - at least 16 characters long (even longer is better).
  • Passphrases - use a passphrase of 5 –7 random words.

Check your credit report for fraud
When looking at your credit report, look for accounts that don't belong to you. Accounts that you don't recognize might mean that someone has applied for credit under your name - or it could just be a simple administrative error. Taking the steps to have it corrected will help either way; we can help.
