This isn't your typical branch leadership role. You'll be the face of WCU in Pilot Butte, establishing our presence in the community, developing relationships with individuals, businesses and community organizations, and creating opportunities for growth. You'll also lead and develop the team and help shape the culture and member experience of our newest location.
We're looking for someone who is energized by people, relationships and growth. Someone who enjoys getting out into the community, making connections, asking for business and turning those connections into long-term relationships. You'll have the opportunity to shape how we operate in a new market while working closely with specialists across WCU to connect members with the advice and solutions they need.
The salary range for this position is $74,269 to $102,120. Starting salary will be based on qualifications and relevant experience. In addition to fixed compensation, this position is eligible for WCU's short-term incentive/profit-sharing program and an additional new market bonus tied to branch performance.
Key areas of focus include:
Building WCU's Presence in Pilot Butte
• Be a visible and active representative of Weyburn Credit Union within Pilot Butte.
• Build strong relationships with local residents, businesses, organizations and community groups.
• Develop a network of contacts and referral relationships that creates awareness of the WCU brand and supports sustainable growth.
• Identify local opportunities and help shape how WCU serves the Pilot Butte market.
• Partner with Marketing and other WCU teams on community events, outreach and local initiatives.
Business Development & Growth
• Develop and execute a local business development plan focused on proactive outreach, new memberships, appointments, residential mortgage growth, deposits and long-term relationships.
• Identify opportunities to attract new members and deepen existing relationships.
• Lead by example by asking for business, following up on opportunities and creating meaningful financial conversations.
• Monitor branch results, member needs and local market trends and adjust your approach as the market develops.
Leadership & Member Experience
• Build, coach and develop a collaborative, accountable and member-focused team.
• Create a strong team culture that reflects WCU's Culture Code and commitment to exceptional member experiences.
• Coach employees in relationship management, proactive outreach, advice conversations, lending and referrals.
• Provide relationship-based financial advice and connect members with specialists across WCU when their needs extend beyond the branch.
Lending & Branch Leadership
• Support consumer and residential mortgage lending within established authority and policy.
• Provide guidance on more complex member situations and lending files.
• Lead the day-to-day operation of the Pilot Butte location and establish effective workflows, service standards and operating practices.
• Ensure strong risk management, compliance and operational practices while creating an experience that is easy and welcoming for members.
Why Join WCU?
This is a unique opportunity to put your mark on something new. You'll have meaningful influence over how WCU establishes itself in Pilot Butte and the relationships we build within the community.
In addition to competitive fixed compensation, this role offers a multi-faceted compensation package designed to recognize both individual and organizational success, including:
• Short-term incentive/profit-sharing opportunity.
• A unique new market incentive opportunity tied to the success and performance of the Pilot Butte location.
• Comprehensive health, dental, disability, life insurance and wellness benefits.
• Employer-matched pension plan of up to 7%.
• Generous paid time off, including personal, volunteer and study time.
• Professional development and career growth opportunities.
• Discounted employee banking products and services.
• A collaborative culture where you can have a real impact.
Your SPARK (Qualifications):
We're looking for someone who brings:
• Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Finance or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• 4–6 years of progressive experience in retail banking or credit union operations, including demonstrated experience in relationship management, business development, and consumer or residential mortgage lending.
• Previous people leadership, coaching or supervisory experience.
• Strong relationship-building, networking and business development capabilities.
• Consumer and residential mortgage lending knowledge.
• A natural relationship builder who is comfortable networking, making connections and representing WCU in the community.
• Strong communication, judgment and problem-solving skills.
• An ability to balance relationship development and growth with strong operational and risk-management practices.
• Adaptability and comfort working in a new and evolving environment.
• A genuine commitment to creating an exceptional member experience and contributing to the community.
WCU values continuous personal and professional development. If you don't meet every qualification but believe your experience, leadership and relationship-building abilities would enable you to succeed in this role, we encourage you to apply.
