Congratulations Inclusion Weyburn!

Inclusion Weyburn works to ensure individuals from Weyburn area who have intellectual disabilities are valued and supported members of the community and have opportunities in additional aspects of life. To support this, they run the “Fun in the Sun” Summer Day Camp in partnership with the city’s Leisure Services. Children who have intellectual disabilities rely heavily on daily structure and routine to feel comfortable and safe. School fills this need throughout the school year. When summer holiday time arrives this routine is gone, making the days very stressful. The “Fun in the Sun” Inclusive Summer Camp fills this need.

So when, an application was made to purchase equipment for the Fun in the Sun Inclusive Summer Camp we couldn’t say no to such a great cause. The special equipment helps the children to deal with sensory issues that cause agitation and inability to focus. It is important that children have access to these tools to help them self-regulate and calm themselves. We have approved Inclusion Weyburn for the full amount they applied for. We will be giving $1,700 to Inclusion Weyburn for the purchase of equipment for the “Fun in the Sun” Inclusive Summer Camp.
